Case Study
Stanford Management Group
Digital brand system and asset design for professional cohesion
Redesigned digital brand system and assets for Stanford Management Group to ensure professional cohesion across all communications.
Problem
The Challenge
Stanford Management Group's communications lacked visual consistency across digital touchpoints - slide decks, newsletters, social posts, and internal documents each used different type treatments, colors, and layouts. The fragmentation undermined the group's credibility and made it harder to present a unified identity to partners and prospective members.
The central question: how do you build a brand system that a rotating team of non-designers can actually maintain and keep consistent over time?
Work
Brand System Design
I developed a comprehensive brand system to address this: establishing a clear typographic hierarchy, a restrained color palette appropriate for a professional management context, and a set of reusable layout templates that could be applied consistently across channels.
Deliverables
Digital Asset Creation
Built a library of branded digital assets including presentation templates, social media graphics, email header designs, and event promotional materials. Each asset was designed to be easily updated by team members without a design background - prioritizing flexibility and ease of use alongside visual quality.
Delivered a brand guidelines document to ensure consistency as the team grew and new members took on communications responsibilities.
Strategy
Communications Strategy
Beyond design, the role involved shaping how Stanford Management Group communicated - developing a consistent tone of voice, establishing editorial cadences for external-facing content, and creating internal workflows to keep communications organized and on-brand.
The goal was simple: make SMG look and sound like the professional, serious organization it is.
Brand consistency isn't about restriction - it's about building trust through recognizability.
