Hi! I'm Kailani Webb, a senior at Stanford studying Design and Film. I'm American-Indonesian, but grew up in the Philippines. When I'm not on Figma or Adobe Premiere Pro, I'm usually making matcha or traveling somewhere to eat (@kailaniwebb on Beli).

My work sits at the intersection of product thinking, creative direction, and systems building, influenced by my background in film. I carry everything I learn into whatever comes next. I know how to push a project forward, and just as importantly, I know when to let go and move on (see my resume here).

At every stage of a project, I come back to one question: "Is this actually the right thing to build for this person?" Good design starts with understanding what someone needs and making something that truly meets it. That matters more now that AI can turn an idea into a polished prototype in seconds. Making things is getting easier, yet, deciding what's worth making is getting harder. I'm excited to use AI wherever it makes the work better, while holding on to the human point of view that gives design its meaning. I will always believe the things we collect along the way (references, curiosity, lived experience) shape how we see the world, and in turn, what we create.

I want to build tools and products for people who make things, and keep taking on problems that don't have obvious answers yet. I love stepping in, figuring things out as I go, and building both the vision and the systems that bring it to life. Every project is a chance to learn a new skill or sharpen one I already have, so I'm confident I'll figure it out.
